Even though i have a very dry and sensitive skin, i do have a whitehead/blackheads and dilated pore issue, especially on my nose. It’s been like this since i was a teenager and no matter what a do, it doesn’t seems to get any better! But over the past year, i’ve been getting in the habit of taking better care of my pores and a regular basis and i have to admit that if it doesn’t make a huge difference, i do feel like it’s slowly improving the situation a bit. I mean my blackheads are still there and won’t usually come off even with a strip (like the Bioré ones that we don’t have in France unfortunately, so i don’t know if they would work magic on me or not!) but i feel like my pores are slightly less dilated and my t-zone just in general feel a bit more even and clearer. Of course you know by now that i’m a huge facemask addict (i do one every 3 or 4 days usually when i take a bath it’s the perfect moment for that) so i wanted to share with you today, the current facemasks that i use to clear my skin and improve the apparence of my pores.
Clarimatte Invisible Pores Detox Mask | REN – 29€
This one is a detoxifying clay mask that claims to draw out impurities and helps reduce the appearance of oiliness, large pores, blackheads and whiteheads. To me it’s a typical clay mask honestly, it does a great job a cleansing and get rid of oiliness (even though i don’t have much), doesn’t dry my skin too much and i actually do see and feel that my pores are tightened. I think it’s a lovely mask that doesn’t do any miracle or anything revolutionary on your skin, but, with a regular use and a good daily routine, you’ll see some improvement i think.
Pore Refine Deep Detox Mask | Pacifica – 17€
At first i was super surprise by the texture of this mask because it’s very liquidy (you’ve been warned so be careful when using it for the first time!) but i think it’s actually my favorite of the three. I use it whenever i get a suspicious redness that might turn into a blemish, and it’s basically almost gone the next day, without even breaking out, ever! I never use it on my whole face though because it’s quite drying, but i definitely use it on my nose, chin and around my mouth where i get the occasional blemishes. You only have to use a very thin layer and because of that the product will just last you forever (especially if like me you use it only on small areas). Honestly this mask is really worth the splurge in my opinion if you’re looking for something really efficient on blemishes (like to stop them even before they’re actually here!). Give it a go and let me know! 😉
Hibiscus Face Mask | Balm Balm – 12€
This is unfortunately the one mask i kinda regret purchasing because i was super attracted to this product mainly because of how clean the composition was, all natural and organic. The problem i have with this one doesn’t have anything to do with it’s quality and i actually think it’s a good product but definitely not for me and for 2 reasons… One, this mask is a powder that you have to mix in with water to get a paste and i find it quite hard to get the proper consistency and even after trying it at least 5 times, i couldn’t get it 100% right so, maybe i’m doing it wrong but in this case it takes a bit too much effort for a face mask i think! Also and that’s the big drawback for me, it’s not appropriate at all for my skin type. It’s not agressive per say but the scrubbing particules are quite abrasive and my very dry and sensitive skin can’t really take that kinda deep scrubbing! But if you don’t have sensitive skin and you don’t mind the making process, it’s a good mask that smells delicious and you actually get a nice amount of product for your money.
What are your favorite facemask to keep your skin clean and fresh? Any recommandation for me to try?!
