Makeup products that disappointed me

So sometimes when trying out new products, you end up being disappointed by a few of them. And even though it’s super annoying to spend money on something you don’t end up loving and/or using, it kinda helps you figure out what works for you and what doesn’t…

I for myself i’ve come to the sad conclusion that i can’t use liquid lipsticks. The two that i’ve tried are the Sleek Makeup Matte Me Lip Cream in Velvet Slipper and the Tanya Burr Soft Luxe Lip Gloss in Martha Moo & in Rhubarb and Custard. Both formula happened to be extremely drying, started crumbling about 10minutes after applying and showed every single tiny little line on my lips (i’m only 30 and my lips actually looked like my grandma’s). Plus the Sleek one was really hard to take off, even with my usual makeup remover that works great with everything. The only one i’m gonna try to keep using is the Tanya Burr in Martha Moo because the color is so pretty, but i’ll definitely have to use a balm or a gloss with it.

Ever since i decided to use only cruelty free, i’ve been on the lookout for an amazing concealer that would replace my favorite one from Bourjois (non cruelty free brand). After reading many reviews, i choose to try the Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer in Fair Neutral. This product is just like everyone says: super high coverage, and i bet it works beautifully if it suits your skin type. Unfortunately it doesn’t work for mine. It is really not for dry skin and it literally sucked the life out of my under eye area in about 30 secondes. I still use it on the rest of my face whenever i get a blemish for exemple, it works great for that.

Now the problem i have with this beautiful Pixi Beauty Mesmerizing Mineral Palette in Opal Glow is the pigmentation. See, the colors are simply the prettiest for Spring and Summer and i would legit wear only these every single day if only they showed up! I tried to do swatches for you actually but they’re not pigmented enough and you can barely see anything (i didn’t want to use half a pan just for swatches!). They are also super powdery and chalky too so hello fall out! I’m still using it often because the colors are just gorgeous, but it takes way to many efforts and far too much product for these colors to show up on my lids so that one was a big disappointed…

Finally i kept the E.L.F Tone Correcting Powder for last and i have to say that this powder is just a mystery to me because i’ve tried it in all the ways possible, it doesn’t do anything! Like nothing at all, i can’t see ANY difference when using this product, it’s so strange. I do pick up product when swatching it with my fingers, but once it’s on my face, nothing, zero effect… Have you ever tried it? Does it work for you? How on earth do you use it to make it work?! Please let me know in the comment, i’d love to solve that mystery!
