Must see documentary: Food Choices on Netflix

When looking to create a healthier and happier life, one of the first thing you have to take an interest in, is the way you eat. I know many people won’t admit it but it’s just logic that since what you eat and drink keeps you alive, it has to be an extremely important part of your life. Doesn’t that just makes sense?  I myself for many years didn’t realized that. I was way too much in love with the food i knew and loved that i didn’t even wander what it was made off, how it was produce, how nourishing it was for me etc. So when i started to look into nutrition about a year ago, i decided to make some changes. I stopped eating meat back in January and recently stopped eating both fish and eggs. I’m currently still working on dairies, the hardest part for me.

But one of the things that recently pushed me to be more drastic about the choices i make, is the documentary Food Choices that i watched on Netflix, about 20 times now! It was simply a revelation for me and i watched it so many times because i wanted to remember every piece of information every truth they give us and actually be able to share it with the people around me as well.

Let me just start by saying that this is not a documentary about veganism. It’s all about scientifically and logically explaining to people what they eat and how much it can hurt them and what is actually proven to be best for them. The food industry lied to us for so long that we now know as facts, most of the stupidities we’ve heard in commercials and ads but the truth is actually very different, and that’s what the scientists in this documentary want to tell you: We know, and we don’t have any money to make from telling you the truth. And once you have the knowledge, you can make personal, conscient decisions about what you eat…

I know now why it’s important for me to make some more definitive changes in my own way of eating. I like junk food way too much and it has become literally an addiction. I had a hard time to stop smoking but i’m telling you, it’s even harder for me not to buy coca cola and potato chips! How crazy is that?!

This is not to say “you should never drink this again or eat that again”, the important thing here is to know what these product can do to your body and your health and then decide for yourself whether or not you are willing to keep eating them or not, that’s all. We are being lied to for too long now it’s time we make our own choices in all consciousness and accordingly to our values and ethic.

    I watched this on Netflix not to long ago and it really made me stop and ponder how certain foods are processed. It’s definitely provided a learning curve!

    This sounds like a must watch documentary. I went from vegetarian to vegan a few years ago and dairy was the hardest for me to give up too (mostly because I loved cheese). Take baby steps! You’ll eventually get there and feel so much better!
