How i get my home ready for Autumn

You know by now how much i love Autumn (especially since i can’t seem to stop rambling about it, i know… #sorrynotsorry!), so today i just wanted to share with you the little things i did this year to transition our home into this wonderful season! It’s weird how happy it makes me actually… The day i shot these photos kinda started as a bad day, i had a horrible migraine and was in a pretty bad mood, but the second i was done decorating and was getting ready to take these photos, i was all smiling and excited like a kid on Christmas morning!  Since then every time i enter our home i’m feeling comfortable and happy… is that weird?! Do any of you feels like that as well or is it just me?! Anyway, here are all the little things i did to create my perfect Fall decor for our little home…

Change the color schemes | When Autumn arrived this year, i instantly felt the need to see all the colors that i associate with this season: orange, brown, mustard yellow, green, red and neutrals like beige or taupe. This time, i totally decided to go full on add lots of little touches of color here and there, particularly with my wall hanging creations (DIYs coming soon i promise!). It makes our home much more cosy and happy i think!

Change the bed and couch linen | This year i actually had to renew most of my home textiles because the ones i had started to fall appart after many many years of use (and a cat who enjoys destroying things!). It was the perfect opportunity to get my hands on these adorable faux fur pillow covers for the couch, and a new big comforter for the bed. I choose only autumnal/wintry colors to match my color scheme right up until next April!

Add fairy lights in every room | Again, thanks to my little Monster, i had to order new ones this year, but adding cosy fairy lights is always on top of my list of things to do to transition my home into Fall. It feels so cosy and festives don’t you think?! I also plan on creating a big macrame headboard for our bedroom, and i’m totally planning on adding lots of tiny fairy lights in it! Stay tuned for that, it’s gonna make an awesome DIY for sure!

Stock up on teas and spices | Like i mentioned on this previous post, i feel like autumnal and wintry food requires lots of delicious spices so i really like to stock up at the beginning of the season. It actually inspires me quite a lot to try and experiment new recipes!

This post just might make me go home and spend the evening autumning up my house. We’ve got lots of twinkle lights that need to be put up and I have a wall hanging that needs to be finished. Thanks for the inspo!
